and what I noticed is that the vocals are more front / forward compared to the rest of the music / instruments in the KATOs which my ears somehow prefer over the Variations (more bass yes but i feel like I have to turn the volume up by one or more. The midrange on the Dusk is cleaner to me with its purposefully flattened lower mids. Although the Blessing 3 is “technically” better, the tuning as a whole is more desirable on the Blessing 2 in my opinion (Even though i personally like the tuning on the Blessing 3 more).

Yes it's decent for the price but I don't think it's a good choice for the OP. i bought at least one set IEM after his good review and very happy with them. The Dusk blows it out of the water. Soundstage and instrument separation are on another level from the 600 series Sennheisers. For IEMs that are as detailed and as resolving, you’d almost have to go to the about $100 more expensive Moondrop Blessing 2 (Dusk). I do find them a good fit, a much better package.

I think they're both worth the price. the difference will be minimal, if youre a collector then maybe, if youre on a budget definitely not. The Tangzu Zetian Wu is a possible alternative, it's more V-shaped than the Kato but has less treble than the S12. The biggest question is comfort. That being said, the middle frequencies slanted towards the high mids and brought down low mids. The detail retrieval is a bit better than the Aria too. The Blessing 2 have df neutral that emphasize on mid and treble while providing enough bass, dusk have a bit more bass and little bit recessed mid so it has more warmth and relaxing tone, if you like bass and more relax tone, then buy dusk, otherwise the b2.
